Who is responsible
DatingAdvice.rocks is responsible for the personal information under its control. The Privacy Officer can be reached at [email protected].
This policy applies to information collected through datingadvice.rocks, its forms and direct correspondence with us.
Information we collect
When you join the newsletter, we collect the first name and email address you submit. If you contact us, we receive the information contained in your message.
Our hosting and security systems may also create limited technical logs, such as an IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, timestamps and error or security events. We do not ask you to submit intimate relationship details, health information or other sensitive personal information through the newsletter form.
Why we use information
We use newsletter information to deliver content you requested, manage your subscription, maintain consent records and respond to privacy requests. We use correspondence to answer the request that prompted it. Technical logs are used to operate, secure and troubleshoot the website.
We do not sell or rent personal information. We will not use newsletter information for a materially different purpose without obtaining any consent required by law.
Consent and email choices
Newsletter signup is voluntary and requires an affirmative submission. Each commercial email will identify the sender and include an unsubscribe mechanism once email delivery is activated. You may also withdraw consent at any time by writing to [email protected].
Withdrawing consent does not affect lawful processing completed before the withdrawal. We may retain a minimal suppression record so that we can respect an unsubscribe request.
Service providers and transfers
We may use service providers for hosting, security, form storage, email delivery and website operations. They may process only the information needed to provide those services and may operate outside Quebec or Canada, where different laws can apply.
The site currently loads fonts from Google Fonts. As with other remotely hosted resources, the provider may receive technical request information such as an IP address and browser headers. Google describes its practices at policies.google.com/privacy.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses a self-hosted Plausible Analytics service to measure aggregate website use, such as pages visited, traffic sources and outbound-link clicks. Plausible does not use cookies, does not receive form contents and does not create advertising profiles in our current configuration. Limited request information may still be processed to produce aggregate statistics and protect the service. With your analytics consent, we also use Google Analytics 4 (with IP anonymization) to understand aggregate audience behaviour; Google may set cookies and receive technical information such as the page visited, referring page and browser or device details. You can accept, reject or later change this choice through the cookie-preferences control displayed on the site. We display ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or comparable identifiers to serve, personalize and measure ads, and to prevent fraud. You can learn how Google uses information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. If you decline advertising cookies through the cookie-preferences control, we ask Google to show non-personalized ads on later pages; you can also manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com. Essential cookies or comparable storage may be used where necessary for security, form operation or consent preferences.
If we introduce non-essential analytics, advertising or affiliate tracking, we will update this policy and provide any notice or consent controls required by applicable law.
Retention and security
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, to honour subscription choices, meet legal obligations and resolve security or operational issues. We then delete or anonymize it where appropriate.
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access, correction, withdrawal of consent or deletion. You may also challenge our privacy practices.
Send requests to the Privacy Officer at [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before responding. You may also contact the privacy regulator that applies in your jurisdiction, including the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children and policy changes
The site and newsletter are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
We may update this policy as our services or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version, and material changes will be brought to users’ attention as required.
